Meet ... Rogier Termeer

In this column you will be introduced to the ICreative team members. This time the honor to E-invoicing Consultant Rogier Termeer to introduce himself to you.

When Rogier (pronounced Roozjéé) joined ICreative in January 2022, he started as a Basware Network Consultant. In the meantime, his position has expanded considerably and he now deals with everything involved in receiving invoices.

Process every invoice optimally

He says, "My job starts when the customer receives invoices that the automated system cannot process."

From badly legible handwritten invoices that need to be converted to XML to invoices from one supplier in a very specific XML format that does not meet any standards: Rogier finds the solution that allows each invoice to be processed as optimally as possible.

And that solution can lie either inside or outside Basware. Because full-fledged in-house modules, such as ICreative Validation Service, provide the desired solution in many cases. This is why the title E-invoicing Consultant is more appropriate than sec Basware Network Consultant.

Small solution, big difference

Rogier compares his work to a puzzle. "Each individual piece of the puzzle is not complicated. The complexity is in putting down the whole puzzle," he outlines. By this he means that you can make a big difference with even a small solution.

"My job starts when the customer brings in invoices that the automated system cannot process," he says.

For example, a large company received invoices on which the customer and order numbers were written together. The system couldn't process this, so an employee had to manually retype these numbers. "I created something that automatically separates the customer and order number. It's something very simple that might save a few clicks per invoice. But when it comes to large numbers of invoices, it suddenly makes a significant difference. That does give energy!"

Fine view of being an employer

How did Rogier actually end up at ICreative last year? "At my previous employer I was no longer in my place. So I decided to write to a recruitment and selection agency and they came up with a vacancy at ICreative."

Already at the first interview with director Vincent Wouters it turned out to be a golden match. Not only because of the shared passion for horses, but also the vision of being an employer appealed greatly to Rogier. "I like how employees are treated here. In addition, the atmosphere in the office immediately felt good. All the colleagues I met were relaxed and approachable."

His two horses, by the way, are not the only animals in Rogier's life. He shares his house in Maurik with a dog, two cats and a handful of Koi (carp). The free time he has left, he prefers to spend on the tennis court or on his bicycle. Next summer he plans to climb the Stelvio while pedaling.

Earlier in this column, colleague Danny Kind introduced himself. "Putting down a software solution is one thing, but maintaining and building on it is two."
