In this section, you will learn the team members of ICreative know. This time key account manager Dennis Hoolwerf introduces himself. Dennis is one of our newest additions; since January 1, 2024 he is he part of the team.
"I see my role at ICreative as that of business partner and relationship manager," Dennis begins the conversation. "I really enjoy being in contact with organizations and getting to the bottom of exactly how their processes work. It's interesting to understand why they do what they do, and how they do it. Then to look together at how our solutions can ensure that their processes run even more efficiently."
So he really doesn't want to be seen as "a salesman," Dennis says firmly. "I want to stand next to the customer and actually offer added value. In which we work together transparently and help each other move forward."
Software makes work more fun
Dennis says he got into the software business by accident. "I used to always play soccer in the street and earn a little extra at the market. Typical of a boy from Spakenburg," he outlines.
"When I had to choose a study, I didn't have a clear picture of what I wanted to do later. The choice eventually fell on commercial economics, because it was nice and broad." After his studies, he started working at Rabobank. "There I discovered that I really like software. Because with software you can ensure that people have more time for work that they really enjoy, because the boring repetitive things are taken away from them. So software makes your work a lot more fun. How cool is that?"
Leap of faith
That realization launched a career as an account manager in financial software. Dennis earned his spurs at several companies, including Twinfield and Exact. In late 2023, he came into contact with ICreatives sales director Jeroen Rozeboom via-via. "It was time for a new challenge and I was curious about ICreative's story. What were they looking for? I went for coffee with Jeroen and it soon became clear that there was a good match."
He decided to make the switch. Despite his years of experience in account management and financial software, it still felt like a leap of faith for him. "In recent years, I have mainly been in the accountancy market. That's a very specific target group. In addition, I was of course familiar with the purchase to pay process, but this specialization goes a lot further. It's super important to know exactly what you're talking about, so that required new knowledge."
Also new is the fact that 4CEE, the group of companies that ICreative is part of, is a family business. That while Dennis comes from a large corporate. "The lines are a lot shorter here than I'm used to. I like that, because it allows me to hope to make more impact within our organization."
At the soccer club
When Dennis is not at work, you can probably find him at the soccer club somewhere. "Yes, the clichés about Spakenburgers apply to me," he says winking. To clarify, "I idolize soccer." In addition, this sports enthusiast also enjoys paddling and boxing, and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their three children.
