Improve recognition in Kofax KTA

Last Tuesday, July 2, 2019, two IT professionals successfully completed the training course "Improving Recognition in Kofax TotalAgility (KTA). Consultant Emile Hijdra explained the functionality of the software and application management.

Hijdra kicked off with a basic explanation of the invoice processing process and how the software works. After logging in, the user enters the work queue for that day or that week. 'When processing the invoices, you should always check the most important fields,' Hijdra advised, explaining that the SLA field shows how 'old' the batch of invoices is.

Kofax includes a self-learning system called Online Learning. 'You use this when you find that certain data was present but not automatically recognized. Some invoices prove difficult to interpret. Think of data where there are no direct terms around it that the system can recognize as a keyword, or creditors with multiple IBAN entries on the invoice.'

By correctly applying Online Learning, a higher recognition rate will be achieved. Furthermore, topics such as managing exceptions, downloading a separation sheet and the license structure passed the review in the theoretical part.

After the break, the participants got to work themselves and the ICT professionals learned how to help their colleagues in financial administration with, for example, a lost invoice or batch of invoices (job). It sometimes happens that the scan did not arrive in the mailbox, the e-mail import with Kofax KTA failed or the invoice did not arrive in Basware. 'If an invoice is suspended, it means it's stuck and an administrator needs to look at it,' said Hijdra, who went on to explain what an administrator can then do.
