New for large vehicle fleet owners: MRB collection invoice
Berjan van den Broek January, 21, 2020
Since last summer, large fleet owners have had to retrieve their invoice specifications for motor vehicle tax (MRB) monthly from the government message box Digipoort. Without a link to Digipoort, companies receive an invoice per license plate change. For one of our customers, with a fleet of about 2,300 trucks, this would mean it would have to process about 300 separate MRB invoices each month.
Large companies with many license plates, such as leasing companies, can take advantage of the large fleet owner motor vehicle tax scheme, known as the GWH scheme, under certain conditions.
In the past, large vehicle fleet owners still received the invoice specification for motor vehicle tax via CD-ROM, but since the summer of 2019, the Inland Revenue has switched to digital data exchange. Companies must now retrieve the invoice specifications for all motor vehicles via Digipoort, the ICT center where messaging for the government is handled.
Integration with regular billing process
Our customer, who did not have a working link to Digipoort, received about 300 invoices per month. To reduce the administrative burden of this, this customer asked us if we could integrate specification retrieval with their regular billing process.
We have made it possible to retrieve invoice specifications automatically, and instead of one invoice for each license plate on which tax is payable, one collective invoice with all license plate mutations is now generated. A job that normally takes a lot of time is thus done in no time.
In addition, we are also able to enrich the invoice, with additional supplier data, per invoice line the cost center and account code for the known license plates. With this, the booking line for this customer is complete and the invoice can proceed directly to the financial system without human intervention.
