One of the largest Dutch construction groups is not only building residential, commercial, transportation and recreational projects. With so many suppliers the construction group works with, it is not surprising that the company is also building its own accounts payable system.
For some time, the construction group's accounts payable department has been relieved of calls from suppliers asking about the status of their invoices. Accounts Payable automaker, ICreative, developed an online portal that allows suppliers to instantly see the status of their invoices based on the combination of a few invoice characteristics.
The added value of this portal has been so well liked by the construction group that the portal is now being expanded by ICreative. Accounts receivable can now also request payment specifications in the same portal.
Berjan van den Broek, product owner at ICreative explains: "our customer's suppliers can find in the portal not only the status of their invoices, but also the specifications of paid invoices. These specifications can then be downloaded in PDF or Excel format."
Entering the payment number and amount in the portal will display payment specifications, including information about deposits to a G account.
The portal allows accounts receivable departments to process their outstanding invoices faster, while accounts payable departments have to answer approximately 30% fewer emails and phone calls.
