Klaus Andersen, born 1964, is the new CEO of Basware effective June 20, 2019. He already held the position on an interim basis since Vesa Tykkyläinen's departure in March this year.
Klaus Andersen joined Basware in September 2018 as Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Team. Prior to joining Basware, he worked at Itiviti. At this technology company, he was Executive Vice President Global Engineering since 2015. Before that, he held several senior management positions at SimCorp, a Danish company that provides IT solutions and expertise to asset managers at financial institutions.
Ilkka Sihvo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said of his appointment, "The Board conducted an extensive international search for a new CEO and Klaus excelled with his extensive experience in senior management positions in the software industry. During his time as interim CEO, he has already shown great leadership and demonstrated that he understands the business very well.' The Board is confident in his abilities to lead Basware to profitable growth.
