Basware has enhanced its SmartPDF service with machine learning technology. SmartPDF AI can now convert machine readable PDFs to e-invoices with over 97 percent accuracy, with minimal manual effort.
SmartPDF AI is automatically "trained" with past invoice data thanks to astate-of-the-art machine learning model.'With our long history in e-invoicing and automatic extraction capabilities, we have a very large data set to train the AI models. This allows us to achieve 97 percent field-level accuracy," explains Sami Nikula, Director of Network Solutions at Basware.
'When the model is then applied to a customer's historical invoices, the accuracy of the model improves automatically. As a result, little human intervention is required, saving the accounts payable team a tremendous amount of time," Nikula said.
Companies already using SmartPDF do not need to perform a new installation. Also, no manual validation or configuration is required. Whether a new supplier sends an invoice for the first time or an existing supplier changes the invoice format, the self-learning system automatically adapts.
